Job Summary

Support mechanical engineering work for infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector. Assist with due diligence, design, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, inspections, and the integration of mechanical systems such as automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing. Collect and analyze technical and field data, produce documentation and visualizations, maintain quality control, and help scope small- to medium-sized projects while coordinating with regulators and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site and technical information (e.g., surveys, blueprints, schematics, drawings) to support development, design, and construction.
•Conduct mechanical engineering research and inspections to determine conformance with standards, rules, and applicable permits.
•Participate in modeling, concept development, load calculations, and operating strategies for mechanical systems installation and performance.
•Provide technical assistance for automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic systems, and plumbing systems specifications.
•Prepare reports, documentation, and visualizations (tables, charts, sketches, calculations, technical drawings, spreadsheets) and support quality control and site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in mechanical engineering with prior mechanical design experience.
•Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
•Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design/build practices applied to project work.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management (including rehabilitation and new design).
