Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead delivery and ongoing development of Burberry’s Scope 1 and 2 Science Based Targets and renewable energy commitment, including procuring and retiring renewable energy certificates.
  • •Support targeted projects to deliver environmental targets and policies, including rollout of the Internal Carbon Price and efforts to manage environmental impacts of business travel.
  • •Manage quarterly collection and analysis of global operational energy, waste, and water data using an internal network of data providers.
  • •Ensure compliance with energy-related reporting regulations such as SECR, UK ESOS, and EU EED.
  • •Oversee identification and assessment of site-level physical climate risks and support ESG disclosure preparation (e.g., CDP, TCFD, and sustainability reporting).

Key Requirements

  • •Strong knowledge of climate and energy reporting frameworks, legislation, and disclosure requirements (e.g., SECR, ESOS, GHG Protocol).
  • •Proven experience delivering decarbonisation, renewable energy, or environmental improvement programmes with measurable outcomes.
  • •Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills to influence stakeholders across business functions.
  • •Ability to balance environmental ambition with operational practicality and business priorities.
  • •Experience with site-level energy, water and/or waste auditing; LEED, BREEAM, ISO50001 and/or ISO14001; and/or carbon pricing mechanisms (desired but not essential).
