Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate advanced manufacturing equipment (robots, welders, manufacturing software) to fabricate and assemble spacecraft structural components.
  • •Set up and calibrate machinery using engineering blueprints, CAD models, and production specifications to achieve precise tolerances.
  • •Perform in-process inspections using calipers, laser scanners, and NDT methods to detect defects and verify compliance with NASA/AS9100 standards.
  • •Prepare barrel section surfaces and edges for welding and assembly (cleaning, grinding, beveling, deburring) and check completed work against drawings.
  • •Perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment and document machine logs, quality reports, and maintenance records; support shift rotations and timelines.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • •1+ years of experience in hardware assembly, testing, maintenance, material handling, machine operation, and/or installation; or a trade skills certificate in welding/A&P/manufacturing/electronics.
  • •Technical certification in machining, fabrication, or welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder or CNC Operator) preferred.
  • •Experience operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing setting, ideally aerospace, automotive, or heavy industry.
  • •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
