Job Summary

Operate and set up advanced welding and fabrication equipment for Starship and Super Heavy Booster fuselage and tank sections. You’ll calibrate machinery using engineering blueprints, CAD models, and production specs, perform material handling, and run in-process inspections with tools and NDT methods to meet aerospace quality standards. Maintain equipment via preventative maintenance, follow 5S and safety protocols, document production traceability, and collaborate to troubleshoot and improve welding processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate advanced manufacturing equipment (robots, welders, manufacturing software) to fabricate and assemble spacecraft structural components.
•Set up and calibrate machinery using engineering blueprints, CAD models, and production specifications to achieve precise tolerances.
•Perform in-process inspections using calipers, laser scanners, and NDT methods to detect defects and verify compliance with NASA/AS9100 standards.
•Prepare barrel section surfaces and edges for welding and assembly (cleaning, grinding, beveling, deburring) and check completed work against drawings.
•Perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment and document machine logs, quality reports, and maintenance records; support shift rotations and timelines.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
•1+ years of experience in hardware assembly, testing, maintenance, material handling, machine operation, and/or installation; or a trade skills certificate in welding/A&P/manufacturing/electronics.
•Technical certification in machining, fabrication, or welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder or CNC Operator) preferred.
•Experience operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing setting, ideally aerospace, automotive, or heavy industry.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
