Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the data layer that underpins every product surface: the databases, caches, and the strategy for provisioning, querying, and scaling data stores.
  • •Design and implement a robust, multi-database topology built for growth and reliability.
  • •Define and implement guardrails for queries and instrumentation to catch bad patterns before production.
  • •Guide teams on when to use which storage engine for different workloads, ensuring optimal performance.
  • •Collaborate with engineering teams to build systems that other engineers depend on and scale with Cursor’s growth.
