Job Summary

Senior/Principal Engineer responsible for delivering civil and bridge engineering projects, mentoring junior team members, and driving quality on time and budget. Key Responsibilities

•Drive delivery of civil and bridge engineering projects, ensuring quality meets time and budget constraints.
•Mentor and support junior team members to develop technical skills and project competency.
•Lead bridge design, management, and assessments for UK and international projects, including strengthening and repair work.
•Prepare documentation, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs and drawings, and outline cost estimates; support fee estimation processes.
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external clients (HS2, Network Rail, Local Authorities, private clients) to deliver feasible options and robust solutions.

Key Requirements

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with practical knowledge and experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment from construction sites and design offices
•Experience in project management of bridge projects and a track record of innovation in design and management of structures (new build, maintenance, assessment, strengthening)
•Working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) related to structural schemes
•Understanding and experience of Eurocodes and their application to bridge design; experience of design/assessment of steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures
•Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM; strong communication and client-handling skills
