Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with research, product management, product engineering, and product design to define AI interface products and their evolution.
  • •Design, build, and deliver well-tested core platform components including the MongoDB MCP Server, agent skills, intelligent assistant platform, and purpose-built agents.
  • •Own end-to-end delivery of high-visibility projects, independently driving ambiguous problems to completion as requirements evolve.
  • •Contribute to architecture, code reviews, and development practices as the team and product grow, improving developer experience.
  • •Mentor fellow engineers and assume ownership and accountability of projects while participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

  • •Strong background building scalable, high-availability web applications and services.
  • •5+ years building backend systems, primarily in Node.js and TypeScript, with interest in a polyglot codebase.

  • •Track record delivering complex projects independently with minimal guidance, including identifying problems and implementing solutions.
  • •Product-minded engineering judgment to make pragmatic tradeoffs in ambiguity with strong technical communication skills.
