Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide metallurgical technical support for aerospace AM modalities such as laser powder bed fusion (PBF-L) and electron beam powder bed fusion (PBF-EB).
  • •Manage external materials & processes (M&P) suppliers and oversee characterization of powder feedstock and consolidated materials, including lab standards and work instructions.
  • •Oversee day-to-day materials lab operations, maintain a quality system, ensure safe work practices, and expand capacity and characterization capability.
  • •Support qualification and development of new advanced materials/metals and manufacturing processes aligned to the AM M&P strategy and business targets.
  • •Support engineering execution by preparing reports, supporting product team reviews, and troubleshooting and leading root-cause corrective action (RCCA) projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Science in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science from an accredited institution.
  • •5+ years experience in a production setting supporting advanced manufacturing such as metal 3D printing modalities.
  • •Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques (e.g., metallography, SEM, chemical analysis) and interpreting results.
  • •Ability to manage multiple projects/activities and drive results.
  • •U.S. Citizenship required due to Military Defense sensitivity and ITAR exposure.
