Job Summary

Support substation engineering for the Federal Power and Energy team, delivering medium to high voltage substation designs for Department of Defense projects. Perform detailed design work across site/civil, grounding, electrical considerations, SCADA, protection/relaying, lighting, and climate control requirements, while managing schedules, QA/QC, project reporting, and client coordination with NAVFAC/USACE. Mentor junior staff and contribute to equipment specifications with occasional site travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality for assigned substation projects.
•Support the Department Manager with client relationships with NAVFAC and USACE.
•Perform QA/QC for client deliverables and support project reporting and proposal development.
•Perform detailed design, studies, and calculations for medium to high voltage substations, including drawings, SCADA/communications, layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and bills of materials.
•Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination; mentor junior staff and support substation equipment specifications.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
•5+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing substation design deliverables.
•Due to client requirements, US citizenship is required.
•Experience in 15kV through 115kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI and UFC standards.
•Direct experience working as a consultant on DOD projects.
