Key Responsibilities

•Lead three engineering squads comprising 20-25 engineers, including Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers across Warsaw and Berlin.
•Own the GenAI transformation of the Payments Tribe by defining and driving a roadmap for AI-native engineering, including AI-assisted development, automated incident response, agentic workflows, and LLM-powered tooling.
•Own the availability and reliability of HelloFresh payments infrastructure by driving SRE practices, incident management, SLOs/SLIs, and on-call maturity across high-throughput systems.
•Set technical direction across Golang, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, Kafka, React, and React Native services on AWS, ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
•Partner with Product, Finance, Growth, and payment providers to align engineering priorities with business outcomes and manage, coach, and develop Engineering Managers.

Key Requirements

•AI proficiency with hands-on experience in adopting AI-enabled development workflows, LLM-powered tooling, or GenAI-native ways of working.
•10+ years in software engineering with 4+ years managing Engineering Managers, including distributed teams across multiple offices.
•Deep technical expertise in payments domains (processing, gateway services, batch processing, reporting) with hands-on experience in Golang, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS.
•Strong systems thinking for high-throughput, downtime-aware environments and regulatory/compliance considerations.
•Operational excellence with SRE practices: SLOs/SLIs, incident management, on-call culture, observability tooling.
