Key Responsibilities

  • •Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.
  • •Perform welding and related processes including brazing, gas welding, arc welding, thermal cutting, grinding, and heat treating.
  • •Repair cracks and broken parts (e.g., industrial engine cylinder heads) using inspection equipment and gas torch as needed.
  • •Utilize shielded arc processes, including MIG and TIG methods, to fabricate and repair aluminum, steel, and armor plate materials, including dissimilar metal welding.
  • •Lay out work using templates, jigs, and guides; position and clamp components; adjust welding parameters to meet penetration/fusion and close tolerance requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a thorough background check (including credit and criminal) to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • •Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • •Must pass a pre-employment physical and then pass an annual employment physical.
  • •Proficient in Aluminum TIG, Aluminum MIG, Flux Core, and Steel MIG welding.
  • •Must be qualified and certified to American Welding Society (AWS) Standard (AWS D17.1) or obtain the listed certifications within 60 days from start of employment.
