Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead sensitive investigations from intake through resolution, including interviewing, analyzing internal data, writing reports, and recommending next steps.
  • •Coach and advise leaders on complex team member relations issues such as performance management and related business/company risk.
  • •Support proactive programs to prevent workplace issues before they escalate.
  • •Partner with Legal and People Business Partners to assess cases, add context, and support consistent decisions.
  • •Help develop and revise policies as GitLab scales, and provide guidance interpreting employment laws across jurisdictions.

Key Requirements

  • •Progressive employee or team member relations experience leading complex, multi-party workplace investigations.
  • •Working knowledge of United States employment law relevant to team member relations, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and EEOC processes.
  • •Experience working in distributed, multi-jurisdiction, or global organizations and adapting guidance across regulatory and cultural contexts.
  • •Ability to influence change without direct authority and build support for programs and policy changes across functions.
  • •Clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to produce well-supported investigation reports.
