Key Responsibilities

  • •Own shared backend platform areas including the AI engine, queues, document processing, integrations, code execution, authentication, and billing.
  • •Design clear APIs and maintainable abstractions using sound data models while ensuring systems are reliable and understandable for other engineers.
  • •Handle complex failure cases such as background job retries without duplicate side effects and provider failures during streaming responses.
  • •Add observability and reliability safeguards (metrics, traces, structured logs) and write tests for important invariants.
  • •Support multi-tenant safety by enforcing tenant boundaries and maintaining secure execution, token lifecycles, and integration workflows.

Key Requirements

  • •3 to 6 years building backend systems handling real load (queues, caches, databases, streaming pipelines, distributed schedulers) with clear failure-mode tradeoffs.
  • •Strong in TypeScript and Node, with an opinionated approach to API design, abstractions, and boundary placement.
  • •Some infrastructure experience (Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud deployments, networking, or operating services across AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • •Working knowledge of the LLM ecosystem: context windows, tool calling, streaming protocols, provider quirks, and prompt caching.
  • •Security-first mindset with experience designing for multi-tenant data isolation.
