Job Summary

Oversee health and safety programs across a poultry processing complex, including the plant, feed mill, and hatchery. Lead compliance with OSHA, DOT, and state/federal regulations by managing regulatory requirements, permits, audits, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Build and maintain safety systems, training, and the site’s annual Safety & Health Plan while mentoring teams and partnering with complex leaders to drive continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

•Direct and oversee health and employee/occupational safety programs to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal, state, and local legal requirements.
•Develop, implement, and maintain safety systems, procedures, and training to support an accident-free, injury-free, healthy workplace.
•Lead execution of the site’s annual Safety and Health Plan, including expense and capital budget development.
•Manage and audit regulatory requirements, provide guidance on policy/regulation interpretation, and direct teams to correct infractions; communicate resolutions as required.
•Lead incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective action plans, and mentor/train/cross-train employees to drive health and safety improvements.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Safety/Health Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education).
•Minimum five (5) years of relevant safety management/compliance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
•Minimum three (3) years demonstrating experience managing direct reports.
•Strong knowledge of health and safety regulatory requirements and safety technical areas (e.g., industrial hygiene and emergency management), plus risk management and training/auditing/program review.
•Ability to read, interpret, and apply company and outside agency rules, regulations, laws, and technical documents; strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
