Job Summary

Own the end-to-end data platform that turns production source data into reliable warehouse models and a single semantic layer for the business and ML systems. You’ll set the architecture, design order-data movement off a legacy monolith, standardize testing/monitoring/SLAs, and deliver feature/serving infrastructure that enables safe, reproducible restaurant machine learning—while managing cost and performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end data platform architecture from source systems to serving, including stack consolidation, rebuild decisions, and potential lakehouse evolution.
•Design order-data migration from a legacy monolith to a new source of truth, covering event consumption/change data capture through projections into the warehouse.
•Establish modeling rigor and a single semantic layer for consistent core metrics, and standardize testing, monitoring, and SLAs to surface issues early.
•Provide ML-ready feature and serving infrastructure that enables safe, reproducible restaurant ML, and manage warehouse cost and performance.
•Build and lead the data platform engineering team behind the initial hands-on architecture work.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 250,000 - 290,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years in data engineering, data platform, or analytics engineering, including 3–5 years leading and building teams.
•Treat pipelines like software with version control, code review, automated tests, schema/data contracts, and CI/CD with changes reviewed before production.
•Deep hands-on experience with a modern data stack: cloud warehouse/lakehouse (Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery/Redshift), dbt (or similar), orchestration (Airflow/Dagster or similar), and batch + streaming (Kafka/Spark/Flink).
•Strong data modeling and SQL plus production-quality Python, with proven data reliability ownership via SLAs/SLOs, quality monitoring, incident response, and root-cause work.
•Practical governance across lineage, cataloging, and access control, including PII and payments data, with good judgment about where AI/ML adds risk.
