Key Responsibilities

  • •Patch cabling between network equipment and the customer’s network, including installing power cabling to rack/cabinet/closet power supplies.
  • •Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment and phone-related components; swap out devices such as phones, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, and switches.
  • •Complete Move, Add, Change (MAC) requests within defined service levels and provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
  • •Perform onsite call-through and back-up testing (data, voice, website, and security) and support carrier testing of circuits.
  • •Assist with inventory management (receiving, tagging, tracking spares, ordering, and returning damaged equipment) and facilities efforts as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •3–5 years of experience in data communications and a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
  • •Proficiency using technical tools such as sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
  • •Ability to rack and stack equipment and perform cable patching using 66 Block and 110 Block cross-connect procedures.
  • •Basic knowledge of Cisco phones, switches, and routers, including the ability to program Cisco phones and install/troubleshoot Avaya phones.
  • •High school diploma or equivalent and strong interpersonal communication skills for explaining technical issues to customers.
