Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide subject matter expertise for Generator Step Up (GSU), unit auxiliary, station service, reserve, and other high voltage transformers.
  • •Provide subject matter expertise for generator circuit breakers and high voltage circuit breakers.
  • •Maintain Vistra’s asset preservation program to support long-range maintenance and reliability planning for high voltage equipment.
  • •Design and develop test procedures, oversee testing processes, and review test data to determine equipment health and corrective actions.
  • •Create procurement specifications and review technical data/drawings and factory test reports as needed, while mentoring less experienced plant engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of relevant experience in high voltage transformer or breaker design, testing, or maintenance.
  • •Ability to understand chemical and electrical tests and perform condition assessment from test results.
  • •Bachelor of Science in an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
  • •Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, creative problem solving, and team building.
  • •High-level expertise in the MS Office suite.
