Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide Health & Safety direction and advice to project teams and support delivery of delegated aspects of the annual departmental H&S operating plan and all-employee H&S initiatives.
  • •Influence teams to implement measures demonstrating legal compliance, and support the Health and Safety Management System for your areas of responsibility.
  • •Deliver H&S monitoring targets (audits and inspections) and provide professional support for incident investigations up to Panel of Inquiry incidents.
  • •Engage internal and external stakeholders to improve H&S performance, facilitate workshops and meetings, and support best-practice exchanges across the business.
  • •Act as a subject matter expert for specific H&S topics or hazards, benchmark HVDC H&S performance, and help establish, monitor, and control safe working environments.

Key Requirements

  • •Occupational Health and Safety degree or equivalent Health and Safety qualification at EQF Level 5 to 8, plus training in Structured Incident Investigation.
  • •IOSH membership registered for Initial Professional Development (IPD) and participating in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • •Proven H&S experience in engineering or construction environments, including delivering audits and inspections and producing reports.
  • •Track record of developing policies and procedures and coaching stakeholders to achieve strong health and safety standards.
  • •A full UK driving licence is required.
