Job Summary

Design and embed competency and training frameworks for operations at Midleton Distillery, ensuring employees have the skills and compliance knowledge to work effectively and safely. Partner with site leaders, subject matter experts, and HR to conduct training needs analysis, create learning solutions using instructional design and adult learning methods, and evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and KPIs within the site’s QSE management system.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, coach and develop the training team to ensure high-quality training delivery, trainer competence, and continuous improvement.
•Design, develop and implement training and competency systems aligned to operational, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
•Develop and maintain competency frameworks across site functions to support current operations and future expansion.
•Conduct training needs analysis with site leaders, departments, subject matter experts, and support functions to define capability requirements and learning priorities.
•Evaluate and govern training effectiveness through feedback, assessment outcomes, KPIs, audit-readiness processes, and continuous improvement actions.

Key Requirements

•Relevant experience in training, learning and development, capability development, HR or a related field.
•Proven experience designing, implementing or maintaining competency frameworks or competency-based training systems.
•Experience in an operational, manufacturing, production, distillery, FMCG or similar site-based environment.
•Strong understanding of training needs analysis, instructional design, adult learning principles and training evaluation.
•High proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to partner with site leaders, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
