Job Summary

Lead the Rowan engineering team building an agentic personal finance assistant that acts over text message with safe, accurate, and verifiable outcomes. Own engineering craft, execution, and team growth, set technical direction, and translate strategy into shipped capabilities. Drive end-to-end reliability for AI workflows using evals, observability, approvals, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop operations while partnering closely across Product, Design, Data, Ops, Legal, Support, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, develop, and grow the Rowan engineering team, setting a high bar for technical judgment, product quality, customer trust, and execution.
•Translate Rowan’s strategy into engineering plans and shipped capabilities that deliver measurable customer value.
•Stay close to the full product experience, including conversational interfaces, orchestration, memory, safety models, and human escalation paths for finances.
•Build reliable agentic capabilities end-to-end using eval frameworks, observability, approvals, fallbacks, recovery paths, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
•Drive projects to conclusion by making decisions, clearing blockers, aligning stakeholders, and raising product and engineering rigor.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 280,000 annually

•Experience shipping production agentic software with a track record leading engineering teams, including senior ICs in complex/ambiguous domains.
•Ability to lead engineers: set direction, grow people, stay close to hard problems, review system design, and write code when needed.
•Strong product judgment to translate customer needs into durable technical architecture (not just demos).
•Hands-on experience with LLM applications and agentic systems, including orchestration, evals, and tradeoffs moving from prototype to production.
•Comfort maintaining high quality and trust for an assistant that acts on personal finances, including slowing down when risk to trust is high.
