Job Summary

Join Pratt & Whitney at the Columbus Engine Center as a Weekend (Friday–Sunday) Onsite Mechanic, performing turbine jet engine overhaul, repair, and assembly. You’ll work within a team to disassemble, inspect, assemble, and test engines using hand tools, tooling, and approved technical data. Ensure self/peer inspections for critical processes, and help meet Safety, Quality, and Delivery objectives while supporting engine restoration to peak performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain turbine engine, engine module, or component parts per published work instructions and approved technical data.
•Assemble/disassemble and test jet engines using common hand tools and specialized tooling/fixtures.
•Comply with self-inspection or peer inspection requirements for critical processes and adhere to quality standards.
•Monitor and ensure Safety, Quality, and Delivery objectives are met during maintenance activities.
•Support a hands-on, team-driven environment to restore engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
•Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
•Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.
•Hands-on experience in one or more disciplines: disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
•Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
