Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake lighting and associated electrical design for motorways, trunk roads, local roads, and public realm schemes.
  • •Perform lighting calculations, design coordination, and prepare lighting documentation, including BIM-compliant drawings, layouts, and as-built information.
  • •Apply LED lighting, adaptive lighting, optical control, and remote management systems, and conduct lighting assessments and energy-saving reviews with environmental impact consideration.
  • •Support project delivery by assessing new and replacement lighting schemes and preparing as-built drawings and operational documentation.
  • •Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and CAD technicians, manage design tasks to programme, and embed Health & Safety considerations in line with company policies and CDM requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).
  • •Min 6-8 years of hands-on lighting design experience for infrastructure projects.
  • •Hands-on experience in highway or exterior lighting design for infrastructure projects.
  • •Working knowledge of UK lighting and electrical standards and design practices for SRN and public realm projects (BS 5489, BS EN 13201, BS7671) and ILP guidance notes.
  • •Hands-on experience with Lighting Reality, DIALux, Amtech and Electrical OM, plus ability to coordinate deliverables with multidisciplinary teams.
