Job Summary

Provide senior technical guidance for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting observational and spatial biological data across vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, and related environmental matrices. Lead biological survey reporting and impact assessment work, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and permitting requirements (e.g., NEPA/State). Oversee cross-functional teams executing field, desk-based, and/or lab work, including budgets, documentation, QA/QC, and safety planning while supporting client coordination, proposals, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide guidance on collecting, identifying, compiling, and analyzing observational and spatial data for biological/environmental samples and surveys.
•Analyze literature, data, and laboratory samples to determine biological impacts and support environmental risk identification and impact assessment.
•Prepare biological survey reports, data entry, impact assessment documentation, and permit-related materials to support regulatory compliance.
•Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams executing permitting strategy, environmental impact assessments, and field biology, including budgets and tracking.
•Lead and mentor junior staff while preparing technical reports/presentations, coordinating with clients and agencies, and preparing site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field.
•15+ years of experience as an environmental scientist completing environmental surveys (vegetation, wetlands, wildlife/avian, marine), fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments, and/or wetland delineations.
•Strong expertise in environmental laws, permitting requirements, notification/compliance practices, and applicable local/state/federal regulatory frameworks.
•Demonstrated experience leading and reviewing environmental technical reports, environmental impact evaluations, siting reports, and permit applications/licenses with field surveys and reporting.
•Experience conducting NEPA/State analysis and preparing associated documentation, plus the ability to coordinate with clients and regulatory/resource agencies.
