Key Responsibilities

  • •Repair and alter clothing (size/mark/alter/repair garment parts) using needle, thread, or sewing machine.
  • •Operate industrial washing machines to wash linens, garments, towels, and other articles, including controlling water quantity/temperature and machine start/stop.
  • •Operate industrial drying machines, controlling time and temperature according to fabric/material.
  • •Fold and sort clean clothing/linens and ensure proper distribution per the facility laundry exchange schedule.
  • •Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area via daily inspections; monitor safety procedures and report mechanical failures, unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.

Key Requirements

  • •Fully vaccinated against COVID prior to start date.
  • •Operate industrial laundry washing machines and dryers, and sewing machines.
  • •Follow Standard Codes of Conduct for interaction with staff and detainees.
  • •Be at least 18 years of age and pass background investigation and drug testing (including random testing).
  • •High school diploma; ability to communicate clearly and use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
