Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the asphalt distributor on road construction projects.
•Set spray bars for applying liquid asphalt using appropriate distributor controls.
•Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Assist with related duties such as shovel work and setting string line, including adding or removing screed extensions.

Key Requirements

•Have a current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement, and the ability to learn to operate an Asphalt Distributor truck.
•Pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
•Set the spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
•Read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and work with basic math (add/subtract/multiply/divide using fractions and decimals).
