Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform daily tasks associated with the Water Treatment Operator role, including inspections, equipment monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
  • •Monitor water & waste treatment control systems and recording devices; conduct daily lab testing of water treatment effluent for process control.
  • •Adjust water treatment effluent process control to stay within discharge limits and maintain plant water softeners.
  • •Load and move by-product trailers and tankers; act as daily point of contact for deliveries and pick-ups.
  • •Complete and organize daily records/paperwork, keep the water treatment area and equipment clean, and report mechanical/process deficiencies to Maintenance.

Key Requirements

  • •1-2 years’ experience operating and maintaining water treatment plants with ancillary/auxiliary equipment and distribution systems.
  • •Must possess or obtain a Water Treatment Operator Certification within 12 months of employment.
  • •Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to communicate effectively.
  • •Must know water treatment/maintenance terminology to communicate within the department and with technical contacts.
  • •Valid driver’s license required; ability to meet routine physical requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs/ladder, stepping up/down).
