Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and develop platform infrastructure strategy, mapping what the platform needs, making the calls, and owning outcomes.
  • •Be directly involved in deciding what to work on and how to work, making promises and delivering.
  • •Make principled build-vs-buy assessments to advocate for the right tools for the right job.
  • •Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation and decision records for systems and processes.
  • •Participate in architectural forums and make open, principled decisions the organization can build on.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrated depth in distributed systems, including practical understanding of failure modes such as tradeoffs, cascades, backpressure, and graceful degradation.
  • •Operate Kubernetes at operator depth, with experience running clusters under real load and understanding scheduler/control loop behavior during failures.
  • •Strong proficiency in Go, having built and shipped production systems in it.
  • •Multi-cloud architectural experience across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure, including evaluating tradeoffs and living with decisions in production.
  • •Experience defining requirements and driving technology choices across an engineering organization, plus strong written and verbal communication.
