Job Summary

Provide hands-on histology and genomics-focused laboratory support within a regulated translational pathology environment. Process tissues for embedding and sectioning, construct tissue microarrays (TMA), prepare samples for genomics projects, and perform H&E staining, tissue scrape, annotation, and macrodissection. Ensure compliant sample handover to genomics teams, support equipment upkeep, and accurately document activities while following GCP, SOPs, and Human Tissue Act (HTA) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Receive, embed, and section tissue, including histological slide preparation and H&E staining.
•Construct Tissue Microarrays (TMA) and perform cell pellet processing.
•Prepare genomics-related samples, including sample receipt, tissue scrape, tissue annotation, and macrodissection.
•Coordinate compliant sample handover to genomics teams and support multidisciplinary translational pathology projects.
•Maintain laboratory equipment upkeep and accurately document activities in regulated systems in line with GCP, SOPs, and HTA requirements.

Key Requirements

•BSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
•At least 1 year of experience in histology, translational pathology, tissue-based laboratory operations, or another regulated laboratory environment.
•Experience in histological sectioning, tissue handling, and laboratory record keeping.
•Knowledge of GCP regulations and compliant laboratory practices.
•Understanding of regulations for the ethical use and handling of human tissue samples.
