Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with suppliers to provide DFM feedback, review injection molding output, and approve tooling via molding trials.
  • •Down-select early design concepts with design engineering by providing supplier feedback on materials and manufacturing methods.
  • •Compile and present DFx feedback to Design Engineering, and act as the supplier voice for development build phases.
  • •Support RFx efforts as a technical point of contact and develop technical data packages for soliciting supplier bids.
  • •Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues by driving ECR/PCN activities, root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and performance monitoring; conduct supplier assessments, audits, and inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Engineering; MS preferred or equivalent experience in mechanical/industrial/plastics engineering or a related field.
  • •5+ years hands-on new product introduction (NPI) in automotive plastic & composite development.
  • •Deep knowledge of thermoplastic molding and secondary processes such as injection molding, extrusion, and compression molding.
  • •Experience taking new products from concept through production, with strong product lifecycle management tool usage (e.g., Auros, Arena PLM).
  • •Strong analytical, technical writing, and quality-toolbox knowledge (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T).
