Job Summary

Join the Commercial team to provide expert commercial support across facilities management, maintenance, and construction projects covering Core Services and Billable Works. Advise on cost planning, pricing, forecasting, and financial reporting while maintaining commercial controls throughout the project lifecycle. Manage change control, review contract performance, support risk management, and contribute to dispute avoidance and resolution. Monitor supplier performance, support milestone payments and final accounts, and drive continuous improvement to deliver value for money across the Defence estate.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle, supporting cost planning, pricing, forecasting, and financial reporting with robust commercial controls.
•Manage change control, review contract performance, support risk management, and ensure commercial processes align with contractual requirements.
•Develop relationships with operational colleagues, clients, and suppliers; provide guidance on commercial matters and support work proposals.
•Attend commercial and risk meetings, contribute to dispute avoidance and resolution, and identify practical solutions that deliver value for money.
•Monitor supplier performance, manage commercial queries, support milestone payments and final accounts, and assist with monthly cost reporting and financial forecasting.

Key Requirements

•Commercial experience within construction, facilities management, property maintenance, or a related industry, with a strong understanding of quantity surveying, commercial management, and contract administration.
•Confident preparing cost models, supporting tenders, managing commercial risk, and providing clear commercial advice through the full project lifecycle.
•Strong communicator able to influence, negotiate, and build relationships with colleagues, clients, and supply chain partners while working collaboratively across teams.
•Hold an HND, Foundation Degree, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, or have significant equivalent industry experience.
•Experience working on facilities management or construction projects, including multiple concurrent minor works through to projects valued up to £4.5 million, with commercial processes, cost management, and risk analysis knowledge.
