Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead mechanical design of the next module/chassis, balancing structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, and documentation.
  • •Create and implement the selected design in Creo 3D CAD, delivering drawings, critical function dimensions, and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • •Manage product lifecycle work including BOM structuring, releases, and change processes using product lifecycle management tools (Agile).
  • •Coordinate design reviews and cross-functional collaboration, including PCB/ECAD deliverables and working with electrical engineers on placement concerns.
  • •Support prototypes and manufacturing by working in the lab to validate 3D MCAD designs, debug issues, communicate findings to CMs, and address DFM concerns with suppliers (including some travel).

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years’ experience.
  • •Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data-center use.
  • •Hands-on experience with ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes (Agile experience is a plus).
  • •Experience using Creo 3D CAD (ProEngineer/PTC Creo a plus) and Creo Simulate/Mechanica a plus.
  • •Experience supporting prototypes: thermal/airflow work, tests (shock, vibe, EMC), and troubleshooting manufacturing/lab issues.
