Key Responsibilities

  • •Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to execute on product and business strategy and build new features for creators and users.
  • •Own the full development cycle from technical design through development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
  • •Build end-to-end fullstack solutions for the web media player UI (React, TypeScript) and backend APIs (Go, Python) powering playback.
  • •Review code and design docs, provide feedback on product specs and mocks, and help maintain quality while moving quickly.
  • •Collaborate with client and platform engineers to improve performance of media across Reddit and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • •3+ years of software development experience in general-purpose languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
  • •Proficiency in modern web development technologies including JavaScript, React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • •Experience designing and implementing maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and gRPC basics (plus Thrift basics).
  • •Strong communication and the ability to prioritize work to deliver on schedule in a fully remote environment.
