Job Summary

Develop and validate liquid-cooling solutions for AMD data center GPU and AI computing platforms within the Data Center Platform Engineering Group. Drive thermal-mechanical design from concept through prototype validation and production readiness, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. Conduct thermal simulations and lab-based validation, including flow/pressure-drop and temperature mapping, analyze bottlenecks, and recommend design improvements. Produce technical documentation and support next-generation server and rack-level cooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and validate liquid cooling solutions for AMD data center GPU and AI computing platforms.
•Drive thermal-mechanical solution development from concept through prototype validation and production readiness.
•Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external vendors to create cold plate, heat sink, and liquid cooling technologies.
•Perform thermal simulations and laboratory-based validation testing, including flow/pressure-drop and temperature mapping.
•Analyze test results, identify thermal bottlenecks, recommend design improvements, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 99,050 - 169,800 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
•Preferred experience in thermal design and validation for high-power electronics, AI platforms, HPC systems, or data center servers.
•Experience developing liquid cooling technologies such as cold plates, heat sinks, and rack-level cooling solutions.
•CFD and thermal analysis experience using tools including Icepak, FloTHERM, and Ansys Fluent (or similar).
•Mechanical design experience using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools, plus knowledge of GD&T and design-for-manufacturing.
