Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as a technical interface between the customer, management and the implementation team.
  • •Provide engineering sustainment support for Minor Vessel platforms during maintenance activities and in-service defects.
  • •Review engineering documentation including docking, stability, structural calculations, work instructions, defect assessments, repair procedures, and engineering reports.
  • •Support Problem Identification Reports (PIRs) and the resolution of Urgent Defects (URDEFs), including engineering assessments and technical risk assessments.
  • •Develop work scope and risk assessments for in-service defects, trials, emerging maintenance, and reliability issues; produce safety and technical risk assessments per Defence Seaworthiness Management System.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary Qualification in Naval Architecture and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia (including ability to attain RPEQ recognition).
  • •Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
  • •Experience conducting Naval Architecture analysis in heavy engineering, shipbuilding and/or defence.
  • •Demonstrated experience conducting engineering investigations, technical analyses, and preparing engineering reports.
  • •Experience undertaking engineering integration using Systems Engineering principles and maintaining engineering documentation, including drawings/CAD models and test procedures.
