Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect, implement, and manage WAAP platforms including WAF, API security, bot management, and L3–L7 DDoS protection.
  • •Design, deploy, and maintain WAAP solutions and custom WAF rules, security policies, and signatures to protect critical applications.
  • •Enable API discovery and enforce schema and protections against OWASP API Top 10 threats; support mitigations for OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities (e.g., SQLi, XSS, RCE).
  • •Integrate WAAP with SIEM/SOAR platforms, identity providers, and threat intelligence feeds while onboarding applications and performing security assessments.
  • •Lead WAAP incident response and root cause analysis, define security metrics/KPIs, and ensure compliance with CIS, NIST, and Zero Trust/data protection standards.

Key Requirements

  • •8–11 years of experience in WAAP and application-layer security for web and APIs.
  • •Strong experience with WAAP platforms (Akamai preferred; Cloud WAF or equivalent accepted).
  • •Hands-on capability in WAF policy creation and tuning, false-positive tuning, and rule lifecycle management.
  • •Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 threats for web and APIs, including API discovery, schema enforcement, and protections against SQLi/XSS/RCE.
  • •Strong network security skills including firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper), IDS/IPS, VPN, SIEM, and hybrid proxy architectures.
