Job Summary

Lead and manage the Core systems software team that owns the robot’s operating systems and foundations, including IPC, logging, on-robot services, and APIs connecting to apps and cloud. Drive architecture simplification to improve reliability and scalability as production, factory, and fleet deployments grow. Partner cross-functionally across firmware, hardware, AI, motion/control, product, operations, and services, while writing code and coaching engineers to a high quality bar.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the technical and organizational direction of the Core team to keep robot software robust, maintainable, and scalable.
•Drive architecture simplification across OS and systems to improve reliability and development velocity.
•Align cross-functionally across firmware, hardware, AI, motion and controls, cloud, product, operations, and service teams to keep dependencies unblocked.
•Deliver a software foundation enabling reliable robot behavior in production, factory, and field as fleet size grows.
•Coach and grow a highly technical team while writing code for a significant project and setting a high engineering quality bar.

Salary: USD 200,000 - 350,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years building complex software systems with significant systems software, embedded systems, or software running on physical devices at scale.
•3+ years leading senior engineers and/or technical teams in a player-coach or engineering leadership capacity.
•Strong experience with embedded Linux, low-level software, hardware interfaces, and systems programming in C++ (or similar languages).
•Experience owning architecture where reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability are critical.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
