Job Summary

Lead NVH development for drive units, belt systems, and complete vehicles by combining CAE modeling, laboratory testing, and vehicle validation. You’ll correlate simulations with measurements (e.g., MAC, Transfer Path Analysis), define NVH targets and acceptance criteria, and recommend design improvements across motors, gears, housings, bearings, belts, mounts, and isolation systems. Partner with controls, electromagnetic, manufacturing, and design teams to reduce NVH error states across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead NVH development of drive units, belt systems, and complete vehicles from concept through production.
•Develop and validate CAE models (modal, forced response, transfer function, sensitivity) and correlate results with lab and vehicle measurements using MAC and Transfer Path Analysis.
•Conduct NVH testing to identify source, path, and receiver contributions and simulate/measure transfer functions and transfer paths to identify dominant mechanisms.
•Define NVH targets, metrics, and acceptance criteria for drive units, belt systems, road noise, wind noise, accessories, and structural vibration.
•Recommend design improvements and collaborate with controls engineers to reduce NVH via software optimization and related motor-control techniques.

Key Requirements

•Strong understanding of vibration, structural dynamics, rotational acoustics, and psychoacoustic metrics (e.g., loudness, sharpness, tone-to-noise ratio).
•Experience with NVH simulation tools such as Simcenter 3D, Abaqus, Ansys, or Nastran and CAE model-to-measurement correlation using MAC, modal testing, and Transfer Path Analysis.
•Hands-on experience performing vehicle-, component-, dynamometer-, modal-, and source-level NVH testing.
•Moderate experience with NVH testing software such as Siemens Simcenter Testlab, Head Acoustics, Artemis, or equivalent.
•Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for data analysis, automation, and simulation support.
