Job Summary

Lead technical delivery of rail traction power and substation designs for UK projects within the Electrification & Power team. You’ll oversee design packages from feasibility through detailed design and construction support, perform independent checks, mentor junior engineers, conduct site visits, and liaise with clients to ensure designs are compliant with standards, cost-effective and constructible.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical oversight and delivery of design packages across multiple project stages for traction power and substation projects.
•Coordinate technical delivery with the project team and liaise with clients and stakeholders as required.
•Develop concept and detailed design documentation including calculations, reports and specifications; undertake independent technical checks for compliance.
•Support and mentor designers, early careers and junior engineers within the team.
•Attend site visits and construction phase support to ensure works align with design intent.

Key Requirements

•Experience in traction power and high voltage substation design.
•Experience delivering projects across feasibility, outline and detailed design stages.
•Experience acting as CRE / Lead Engineer is advantageous; where prior CRE experience has not been gained, support and mentoring will be provided to enable progression to that level of responsibility.
•Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and design governance.
•Low voltage experience desirable but not essential.
