Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and manage mechanical design for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including pumping station design, headloss calculations, pumping system analysis, and pump selection.
  • •Create designs for screens, grit removal plants, penstocks, valves, odour control systems, and plant and pipework layouts, along with technical specifications and reports.
  • •Engage in all design stages (feasibility, outline, detail, and construction design) while ensuring compliance with national and international design standards.
  • •Collaborate with other discipline teams and communicate with clients and collaborators throughout design and planning phases.
  • •Support bids and proposal efforts and deliver quality designs within budgets and timelines, producing calculations, drawings, and technical reports; use digital tools such as BIM, Projectwise, intelligent P&IDs, and in-house tools.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in the design of water and wastewater engineering deliverables with multi-disciplinary knowledge, ideally including treatment schemes.
  • •BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
  • •Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
  • •Experience within the water sector working for a consultancy.
