Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver highways design across transport infrastructure projects, including civil arrangements, geometric design, signage, and safety barriers.
  • •Produce high-quality drawings and models aligned to RPDM, AustRoads, and client standards.
  • •Provide technical guidance to design team members, including mentoring and training on digital design tools and workflows.
  • •Manage your own deliverables under limited supervision while contributing to broader project outcomes.
  • •Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support the integration/federation of design inputs; ensure outputs meet specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

Key Requirements

  • •2–6 years’ experience in highway or road infrastructure drafting, ideally across transport and civil infrastructure projects.
  • •Strong skills in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, with exposure to MicroStation or OpenRoads viewed favourably.
  • •Good understanding of highway geometry and road design principles, with ability to work from engineering sketches, models, and technical specifications.
  • •Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with ability to manage deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work; experience with AustRoads or Main Roads WA is advantageous.
  • •Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related field; exposure to BIM, 12D, OpenRoads Designer, or construction documentation is beneficial.
