Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide strategic vision and technical advice to strengthen routine immunization and improve coverage and equity, including donor/partner coordination and reporting.
  • •Support national decision-making and planning for immunization and polio, including NITAG, national strategic plans, cMYP, and emergency action planning.
  • •Oversee implementation of integrated supplementary immunization activities, outbreak preparedness and response, and surveillance systems for polio, measles, and rubella.
  • •Coordinate new vaccine introductions and preparedness for nOPV2, and develop/implement the polio transition plan with integration into broader surveillance systems.
  • •Supervise and guide integrated public health staff, develop WHO program budget plans, and contribute to capacity building for health services delivery.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Medicine or health sciences, plus a Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related fields.
  • •At least 10 years of extensive experience in immunization programmes and vaccine-preventable disease control or polio eradication at senior management level (national and international).
  • •Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of immunization, disease eradication, epidemiology, and communicable disease prevention and control.
  • •Excellent ability to analyze surveillance and immunization data, synthesize findings, and present clear conclusions and recommendations for decision making.
  • •Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work constructively across cultural and educational backgrounds; expert knowledge of English.
