Key Responsibilities

  • •Modify, repair, assemble, and install rocket and spacecraft structures per drawing or tooling instructions.
  • •Use tools and techniques (e.g., tooling holes, pilot holes, drilling/reaming/countersinking) to produce holes in correct sequence and to correct size and depth.
  • •Disassemble and deburr parts, clean surfaces, and prepare parts for sealing or assembly.
  • •Apply sealant, alodine, primer, adhesives, and special finishes; load/unload ovens for bonding detail parts to assemblies.
  • •Determine correct fasteners, install bushings and fasteners using appropriate tools, handle hazardous materials, and verify completed work against drawings.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • •1+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, military, automotive, or construction, or a certificate from an accredited trade school program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics.
  • •Experience drilling, reaming, honing and/or countersinking straight and close-tolerance holes.
  • •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • •Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and work required shifts and overtime/weekends as needed.
