Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and design system/platform integration for Shift5 software and hardware, including data interfaces, execution environments, OS-level configuration, network topology, encryption/key management, and environmental qualification.
  • •Own and maintain system-level technical baselines, track/verify compliance with requirements, and develop/decompose requirements documents (SRDs, SRSs, ICDs) with downstream impact assessment.
  • •Lead development, review, and delivery of formal systems engineering and CDRL artifacts for government acquisition programs (e.g., V&V Plans, System Architecture/Design Documents, configuration management artifacts, technical manuals).
  • •Serve as technical authority for end-to-end cross-discipline system architecture decisions across software, platform, cyber, data science, and integration teams.
  • •Define system-level verification strategies and acceptance criteria, execute system-level analyses (latency/throughput, bandwidth allocation, stability, safety, fault tolerance), and support customer-facing milestone technical reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • •5+ years of experience in systems, integration, or software engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics.
  • •Familiarity with government acquisition contract documentation and common DID-style artifacts (SRD, SRS, IDD, ICD, SDD, CSA).
  • •Strong technical understanding of configuration management, software/OS integration (Linux/Unix), network architectures (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs), radio/RF communications, and encryption/key management in safety-critical environments.
  • •Demonstrated verification and validation experience using methods like Test/Inspection/Demonstration/Analysis, including hardware-in-the-loop lab environments and software-in-the-loop setups.
