Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead WHO technical support to operationalize Angola’s NIS 2026–2030 through annual operational planning, costed timelines, and accountability frameworks.
  • •Provide technical guidance for routine immunization programme planning, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation, addressing bottlenecks across health system levels.
  • •Strengthen equity-focused microplanning and outreach strategies to reach zero-dose and under-immunized children and underserved communities.
  • •Lead technical support for routine immunization intensification initiatives (including RED/REC approaches, immunization weeks, and targeted catch-up activities).
  • •Strengthen immunization policy guidance, governance coordination (ICC and NITAG), pharmacovigilance/AEFI surveillance, and Gavi grant management and reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in medicine, public health, epidemiology, health sciences, or a closely related field, with a postgraduate qualification in public health or global health.
  • •At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible international experience planning, training, and implementing expanded programmes on immunization (EPI) or communicable disease control in low- or middle-income countries.
  • •Significant experience in sub-Saharan Africa and demonstrated experience in immunization programme management at national level (desirable).
  • •Expert knowledge of planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating EPI with a focus on routine immunization strengthening and subnational NIS operationalization.
  • •Expert knowledge of English and Portuguese (French desirable).
