Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain licences for Japan including regulatory reporting and filing, regulatory liaison, and leading audits with the regulator
  • •Build trust with regulators by coordinating reporting, responding to information requests, and communicating product changes and notifiable events
  • •Conduct regulatory analysis and horizon scanning for Japan; assess impact, advise product teams, and drive updates
  • •Provide compliance advisory to Wise Platform teams and lead regulatory engagements as required
  • •Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, tracking systems for compliance risks, and support in audits

Key Requirements

  • •Over 8 years of experience in managing compliance with financial regulation in Japan
  • •Bilingual in Japanese and English with ability to interpret regulations and policies
  • •Expert in regulatory compliance with Knowledge of Payment Service Act, Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act
  • •Autonomous, proactive problem solver able to manage multiple products and projects
  • •Strong project management and communication skills with ability to tailor messages to stakeholders
