Job Summary

Support civil/structural substation design within the Power and Energy business line by producing accurate CADD drawings and design deliverables. Work with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve design details, verify calculations, and prepare plans, models, sections, specifications, and material lists. Collect and analyze field and project data, ensure designs meet city/state/federal code requirements, and provide multiple design versions for engineer review, with occasional client/contractor contact.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical design and CADD support for civil and structural substation design deliverables, including plans, profiles, models, sections, details, and specifications.
•Collect and analyze project data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings) to support drafting and design activities.
•Use 3D CADD tools to resolve design discrepancies with engineers and prepare precise drawings for projects of basic to moderate complexity.
•Verify the accuracy of calculations, design work, and change orders, and escalate differences or technical problems for resolution.
•Ensure designs adhere to applicable city/state/federal regulations and prepare multiple design versions for engineer review.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum 7 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
•Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods, and techniques.
•Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Ability to perform technical computations using geometry and mathematical concepts, and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
