Key Responsibilities

  • •Own manufacturing process development and documentation for PCBAs, box-level electronics, and integrated electronic units to space-grade workmanship standards.
  • •Own manufacturing/integration processes for sensor packages (optical trains, trackers, telescopes/interferometers), including alignment, cleanliness, and contamination control.
  • •Own processes for navigation and radar assemblies (GPS/IMU, radar apertures/front ends), including calibration interfaces and RF handling.
  • •Own communications and power/harnessing processes across UHF through EHF bands and power distribution/wiring to workmanship standards.
  • •Serve as principal technical interface to internal sensor partners and external component/sensor/box vendors; qualify tooling/test equipment; drive root cause analysis, PFMEA, process validation, and first article inspection; mentor and grow the manufacturing discipline team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • •8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, space, defense, or another high-reliability industry, scaling electronic/electro-optical hardware from development into production.
  • •Deep knowledge of high-reliability workmanship standards including IPC-610/620 Class 3, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, and NASA-STD-8739 series.
  • •Expertise in PCBA processes (SMT, through-hole, conformal coating, potting, component selection/screening) and box-level assembly (cabling, harnessing, mechanical integration, thermal, EMI/EMC).
  • •Hands-on depth in at least two areas such as electro-optical/IR optical alignment; RF/radar assembly and test; navigation (GPS/IMU); or power distribution and harness manufacture.
