Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee vessel operations in the wharf, including emergency/bad weather response, issue rectification, and smooth end-of-shift handover.
  • •Optimize yard operations by efficiently using yard equipment (e.g., RTG cranes), monitoring truck movement with the tower controller, and ensuring asset safety and discipline.
  • •Supervise gate operations by monitoring incoming/outgoing truck movements, coordinating with the documentation centre, handling emergencies, and preventing delays/damage.
  • •Coordinate ICD operations with railways, planners, and train operators, ensuring safety and security, resolving labour-related issues, and reporting damage/exceptions.
  • •Manage documentation with shipping lines and internal stakeholders by finalizing loading lists, handling exceptions, updating damage/operational reports and systems, and supporting training for documentation staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Oversee vessel, wharf, and yard operations while ensuring compliance with DPW safety, health, and environment regulations and relevant labour regulations.
  • •Respond quickly during emergencies and bad weather, anticipate and rectify operational difficulties during cargo operations.
  • •Monitor and optimize equipment handling and yard operations (including key cranes/RTG cranes) to keep timelines on track.
  • •Liaise with contract managers, vendors, tower controller, gate supervisors, customers, and stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure smooth shift handovers.
  • •Maintain accurate operational and shipping documentation, including ODC/IMO/Reefer details, and update required reports and databases.
