Key Responsibilities

•Implement proper traffic control for safe movement and protection of the road crew and the public.
•Follow traffic control crew instructions and safety standards per state and federal safety policy requirements.
•Set up traffic control plans as specified by the supervisor and/or crew foreman.
•Perform flagging duties and support public relations within the work zone.
•May assist with related traffic control tasks such as installing, setting in place, or repairing traffic signals and erecting signs and traffic devices.

•Partner with crew members to set up and provide traffic control plan specifications as instructed by the Traffic Control Supervisor and/or crew foreman to meet daily schedules/estimates.

•Maintain a courteous, professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
•Be flexible with last-minute schedule, location, and shift changes; overtime is required and out-of-town/county/state work may be required.
•Be properly trained in flagging techniques with alertness, good eyesight, quick reflexes, and a thorough understanding of the work zone.
