Job Summary

Own embedded controller (EC) firmware development for client devices, from requirements and feature implementation to debugging and partner/customer technical support. Integrate EC firmware with other platform firmware, collaborate with hardware teams on architecture and schematics, and work with QA/Test to create tooling and automation for firmware qualification. Partner with EC chip vendors and OEMs/ODMs, and support notebook platform bring-up using ARM and embedded Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and deliver embedded controller (EC) firmware for client devices.
•Integrate EC firmware with other platform firmware.
•Provide technical support to EC chip vendors and OEMs/ODMs, including developing supporting collaterals.
•Partner with EC chip vendors to ensure products work best with NVIDIA products.
•Collaborate with hardware and QA/Test teams to review hardware architecture/schematics and build test tools/automation for qualifying firmware.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of proven individual-contributor experience.
•8+ years of significant software development experience.
•Experience implementing firmware in ARM architecture and system software in a Linux OS environment.
•Experience implementing embedded controller (EC) firmware with solid C/C++ development skills.
•Solid understanding of low-level interfaces (GPIO/I2C/SPI/eSPI/PCIe/JTAG) and experience supporting notebook platform bring-up; background in Python scripting for embedded Linux debugging.
