Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan plant and equipment layouts, material flow paths, and space allocation for a new maritime factory.
  • •Build capacity plans and rate models (units per year) with sensitivity analysis to support configuration decisions.
  • •Develop sequencing and workflow models, including parallel station runs and cycle-time tracking.
  • •Run discrete-event simulations of the factory and line to validate capacity before construction.
  • •Design and optimize the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel, and feed precedence networks for dynamic scheduling.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in production system design, factory design, or manufacturing engineering for large complex products, including owning the capacity or rate commitment for at least one program.
  • •Demonstrated capacity or rate modeling—build the model, defend the number, and be held accountable to it.
  • •Comfort with simulation/quantitative modeling (FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, Plant Simulation, or Python).
  • •Ability to integrate modeling and scripting into daily workflows to increase throughput and decision speed.
  • •Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
